Royal Society for Blind Children London Workshop

“When I first came to this workshop, I was a bit confused, a bit nervous of what was going to happen. But once I got into it, it was a lot of fun and I made a lot of friends and the races were a lot of fun. The instructions were so straightforward, and it was really easy and fun to do it.” (Visually Impaired Student, RSBC)

Twin’s first aim is to close the educational gap and ensure that all children get equal educational opportunities. We want to bring the latest technologies to the most disadvantaged and underserved kids. Our workshop with the Royal Society for Blind Children London was proof that science has a unifying power. Our team and kids spent hours on building projects beyond their imagination!

At first, kids were nervous to find out if they can manage to build these technologies. During the introduction part, they were a little bit confused. However, when they connected the first modules, their confusion turned into excitement! After this time, no further explanation was needed. They were discovering the modules and how they work themselves with no support from our team. Each time they learned a new feature of the technologies, they were encouraged to go further. At the end of the day, they could not believe that they are the makers of the cars racing on the floor. The technology that seemed tough at the beginning was now easy peasy!

Besides kids, our team and RSBC volunteers also enjoyed this session a lot. They joined the construction of the cars and guided kids with the instructions.

“It was fascinating session. I have never done anything like this before while volunteering with RSBC.”  Steve Tomkins (Dedicated Volunteer, RSBC)

Twin’s aim is to develop these kids with double wings. While one wing is for the knowledge, the other wing is for the conscience. Besides being the builder of great technologies, children stated how they feel about the workshop clearly. They managed to evaluate their perspectives and develop an understanding of teamwork. They were extremely happy about making new friends. They were dedicated to developing such technologies for a better world. These double winged kids are ready to build the future.
